This weekend we finally got to paint and wallpaper our One Room Challenge bedroom!

We’re always amazed to see a room come together so quickly with just a few simple touches. A little painting can go such a long way for a quick room refresh. We picked out this Tiru Matt Emulsion paint from Graham & Brown that perfectly matches our wallpaper color palette. We’re wallpapering the entire room but the paint is for our new crown moulding and ceiling. Yes I know, “They painted the ceiling?” I was nervous at first because it could’ve went totally wrong but I’ve been swooning over rooms lately with painted ceilings and absolutely love them. The paint went on very bright but dried to a perfect deep moody teal tone and we couldn’t be happier. Anything is also better than those dreadful acoustic tiles!

Another quick fix to refresh a room is crown moulding! A thick profile can really dress up a room for some extra drama. We got our moulding from Metrie and they have so many historic profiles to choose from. Since we have natural wood trim throughout the house and crown moulding over our doorways and windows, we wanted something to compliment but not take away from the original woodwork in the room.

This weekend we’ll be doing some touch ups, hanging light fixtures and hitting up some antique shops in hopes of finding a bed frame and some other treasures to add to the room.
