It’s week numero 3 with our One Room Challenge bedroom makeover! We’re behind with wallpaper and painting but we got the ceiling drywall up and the crown moulding and electrical all sorted out. Still unsure why, when they originally added electricity to the house, they would put the outlets and switches so high! Like 5ft high!

Anyway, we’re excited to finally get this moving along quickly this weekend and super excited about this rug, from Loloi Rugs. If you remember our mood-board from last week, the colors go wonderfully and I love how Loloi took a traditional oriental pattern and updated it with a sheared-down pile and modern color palette. We’re still on the hunt for a bed for this room! Ideally, we’d love to find an antique bed frame but it’s so hard to find one in a queen size (most old beds only came in full size). Once in awhile one will pop up, or you can find a great reproduction from the 1970s when American furniture makers went through a colonial craze as the US celebrated its Bicentennial. We did find a new bed that I fell in love with but sadly it’s just not within our budget.

We’ll be in the bedroom working hard all weekend so follow along on Instagram stories for updates and drama!
