The Woodman house is the oldest house in the town of Hortonville, NY. The Woodman family owned a local wood mill in town (ironic last name, huh?) and from our knowledge were a very wealthy family. Informed by the previous owners, the town was built around the Woodman house thanks to the local mill employing residents. By looking at the beautiful architecture throughout the house and stunning interior woodwork it clearly shows the family valued craftsmanship and American chestnut, which is now a very rare wood to come by and is seen throughout the house.

Our mission is to find out as much information as we can about the Woodman house and the family, we’ll keep you updated as the historic property is researched.
