Shawn’s tips on styling the perfect Thanksgiving table.
Entertaining our family and friends at Thanksgiving brings us much joy, as does the prep. Searching new recipes, inventing seasonal cocktails, and decorating for the holiday are half the fun! When it comes to tablescapes, we take inspiration from nature and use items that are not only reusable but that we find in our own backyard (branches, feathers, dried flowers, etc.). Check out my five tips for styling your Thanksgiving table below!
- Ditch the store-bought tchotchkes! Utilize elements from nature and things that can be reused, such as pumpkins, fruit, branches, leaves, feathers, and dried flowers.
- When your guests take their seats, give them a warm welcome with a sprig of rosemary or an ornament tied festively to their napkins.
- Mix-and-match your plates and glassware, but keep a cohesive theme or color palette to pull the table together.
- No tablecloth? No problem! We use inexpensive vintage plaid or tartan throws as tablecloths to give a casual, cozy look.
- No table can be complete without candles! We love natural beeswax tapers. (Don’t use scented!)
